The RoSkan system comprises of a handheld laser scanner, orthotic/prosthetic rectification software and a milling machine. The ROSkan system is a replacement system for the traditional casting method for obtaining a mould for producing an orthotic device. Since there is no physical contact during the scanning process, this eliminates any distress or discomfort for the patient.
The scans can then be rectified in the rectification software giving the user maximum control over the rectifications. The rectification software has a simple work stream which allows the user to quickly and easily make any rectifications which dramatically cuts down the time it takes to get the models into production.
