The RoSkan Solution

The RoSkan system comprises of a handheld laser scanner, orthotic/prosthetic rectification software and a milling machine.

FastScan is lightweight and portable, with the ability to scan objects in their natural environment, onsite. FastScan instantly acquires three dimensional surfaces by gathering measurements made by smoothly sweeping a handheld laser scanning wand over an object - in a manner similar to spray painting. The object's image instantly appears on your computer screen and the finished scan is processed to combine any overlapping sweeps, significantly reducing the time to develop surface models of virtually any object with little or no metal content. The three-dimensional data can then be saved in industry-standard formats for loading into other programs.
To enhance the overall patient treatment experience and ensure accurate orthotic and prosthetic devices, Relief Orthotics needed an alternative in addition to the traditional plaster casting. Relief Orthotics now use the 3D laser-scanning technology which provides a faster, cleaner and less invasive alternative to traditional casting

Rodin4D - Rectification Software

From the scanning of the client through to production, Rodin4D is a complete CAD/CAM solution for orthopaedics. Designed by CPOs for CPOs, it meets precisely and effectively the needs of the user in the field. Click to Enlarge
Once the scans are complete. The finished image can then be imported in to Rodin4D. Within this software any rectifications can be carried out with the easy to master tools. The result of each modification is visible in real time and all the rectifications made can easily be changed or removed at anytime using the controls within the software.
Each applicator has the possibility of creating their own libraries of forms, modifying them according to their needs or exchanging them with colleagues. You have at your disposal a wide panel of solutions for the taking of measurements and the creation of your libraries. Rodin4D does not impose any constraints and can be adapted to your production line.

Once all rectification have been carried out, the resulting model can then be carved oVisit Rodin4D Website (you may have to hold ctrl key to allow a new window)ut ofpolyurethane blocks using a CAM module Milling Machine. The final carved models can then be used to produce more accurate orthotic products.
