Functional Foot Orthoses (FFO)

Foot ailments commonly treated with functional foot orthoses are large and lesser toe joint pain, arch, instep, ankle and heel pain   Since abnormal foot function causes abnormal leg, knee and hip function. Functional foot orthoses are commonly also used to treat painful tendinitis and bursitis conditions in the ankle, knee and hip and also shin splints in the legs. They can be manufactured in a combination of rigid plastics and various densites of EVA and foams. These are normally produced  from plaster casts or 3D scanned images.


KAFO

A KAFO is a long-leg orthosis that spans the knee, ankle, and the foot in an effort to stabilize the joints and assist the muscles of the leg. While there are several common indications for such an Orthosis, muscle weakness and paralysis of the leg are the ones most frequently identified. The most common causes of muscle weakness include spinal cord injury, poliomyelitis, muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis. This type of device typically consists of 2 steel side members attached to vacuum moulded plastic below and above sections typically made using either a plaster cast or from a scan and again can be finished in your choice of transfer

Protective Helmet

This item is designed to protect the user from mild bumps to the head. It is made from shock absorbent foam and can have the addition of a hard plastic shell for extra protection. Although can be successfully produced from a sizing matrix an optimum fit will be achieved from a scan.
